I have three bits of news that I hope will be of interest:

1. I received my gift over at the hp_triangle exchange and it's fabulous! It's a Harry/Ginny, Harry/Ginny/Luna smutfic from the ever-wonderful lunalovepotter: Three-Way Stop (NC-17). Have I said it's fabulous? Have I said she's wonderful? GO AND READ IT!


2. Erm... If you're still here, here's a fun surprise: PotterFicWeekly is discussing my F Words series on their podcasts! (It's the so-called Peons who're taking them on—the main podcast is in the midst of discussing Barb's post-GoF H/G classic, Harry Potter and the Psychic Serpent.)
   
   The current episodes takes on the first fic in the series, Friends. They have what I found to be a really interesting discussion of the story, and in particular Luna's role, both in the fic and in canon. The discussion of "Friends" starts at about 2h08m and lasts until the end of the episode (never let it be said that the PFW folks don't discuss in depth!).

3. So, you may have noticed that I haven't been about much. It's not because I don't want to be! This time of year is always a bit crazy Chez Antosha, but this year.... If you're like me, you probably come here to take a bit of a break from real life. Well, lately Real Life has been pointing at me any time I get near LJ or fandom and laughing and saying, "You think so, do you? FAT CHANCE!" My work situation has gotten very complicated (Translation: Workload up, security and income down) and I'm in a place where either family or LJ has to give.
   
   I love you all, I really do, but see, if I go on hiatus with you folks, I know you'll understand. I don't think my wife and kids would or should. So I'm going to sign off for a bit—probably until January, since by then the whole money-earning thing should have resolved itself. (Translation: Either the organization for which I've been working almost exclusively will have closed its doors or it won't.)
   
   I have some of my non-fandom writing that I need to finish, but I also know that I owe a few of you (rhetoretician , irislock and one or two others... as well as the hp_triangle giftee that I seem to have left in the lurch); I'll work on your stories, I promise! And do keep commenting! I'll still get comment notifications (when LJ isn't spazzing out) and will try to answer them. I'm always happy to get emails, but until January, treat each other well, and I'll see you all later.

I wrote this for the Quidditch Pitch's Imagination Inspiration Drabble Drive. It was inspired by the lovely artwork (a preview of which is visible above) Dressing Room by the wonderful mudblood428, who didn't know that Luna was just out of frame. ;-)

So, a couple of months ago, I needed to brush up on my French for work. Not speaking—just reading and writing. When I've had to dust off my French or German in the past, I just found a book I already knew well in English and reread it in the other language. This time, though... I read French HP fic.

As I trawled through a couple of French fic sites, I came across this Ginny/Luna, Ginny/Harry fic, La fougue et le rêve; the pairings obviously appealed to me, oddball that I am, and the fic itself did too—nice, flangsty love triangle with three of my favorite characters. Yum!

I asked the author, allain92800, whether he minded my translating it into English; he answered, "coucou , je suis ok pour que tu traduise ma fic en anglais ya pas de pb." Which is to say... Um... something along the lines of "No prob, Rob." ;-)

Here's the first chapter; I'll post them as I've got them translated.
